Play Funding Beats the Winter

£14,586 awarded for play projects across Somerset
Somerset Play Forum is pleased to announce awarding £14,586 for play activities across Somerset. The projects funded include everything from the play projects like CLOWNS in West Somerset that provide a unique and much needed regular service, to some really innovative ideas like an Outdoor Role Play Area, a Woodland Play Scheme and a School Play Day that will not only encourage the children to play but will also involve parents/carers aswell.

Kathy Morton from CLOWNS is one of many playworkers who faces a constant struggle to keep projects funded and running for the benefit of local children. On learning of her grant she stated, "Many, many thanks, I really appreciate your support".

Staff at Reckleford School and Children's Centre were overjoyed when they learned of their grant, explaining what a difference it will make to adults understanding of children's need to play, and of children's enjoyment of play at school.
