SkillsActive is a new and exciting organisation with a real opportunity to make a difference. It is employer-led and formally licensed by Government as the Sector Skills Council for the Active Leisure and Learning industry covering sport, recreation, health and fitness, the outdoor sector, children’s play and the caravan industry.
The Government has high expectations of the Sector and its ability to contribute to improving the health of the nation and tackling social exclusion as well as being a growing and vigorous part of the economy. The role of SkillsActive is to work with the Sector to ensure it has a workforce equipped for this challenge.
We are looking for a suitably qualified team with experience in the Children’s Sector (preferably Playwork), with the necessary commitment, enthusiasm, initiative, leadership skills and Sector credibility to deliver our vision of a “competent and qualified workforce. Our aim is to ensure the sector is equipped to fulfil its potential at the heart of the UK economy and social agenda.

Working in your chosen region, you will take the lead in creating and supporting networks of employers and voluntary organisations to help them identify the skills needs of their workforce. You will promote the Sector and build partnerships with key regional partners towards meeting those needs.
